On Tuesday, April 24, 2007, Shell Ghana Ltd. in collaboration with Centre for Cycling Expertise (CCE) and Global Road Safety Partnership marked UN Global Road Safety Week (GRSW) at the head office of Shell Ghana Limited. Starcord riding club members were also present at the meeting. There was a brief address by the Managing Director of Shell Ghana Limited, Mr. Dan Nunoo. According to him, road safety is a priority to Shell.

Again, a short video clip was shown on the impact of road accidents. The global road traffic accident statistics presented, indicated that road traffic crashes kill nearly 1.2 million people worldwide every year, and injure millions more. They are the second leading cause of death for people aged 5 to 25 years, with devastating impact on families and communities. Hence, the theme: “Improving road safety for young road users”

Ing. Magnus L. Quarshie, the Director, Centre for Cycling Expertise (CCE) gave a presentation on “How to cycle safely”. The second part of the program was held in front of Shell Ghana Ltd. building. This saw a presentation of cycling helmets and shades numbering forty (40) each respectively to Starcord Riding Club.
